This work is aimed to damage of residual stand caused by felling operation in private forest enterprise of Zázrivá. Felling operation was performed by a chain saw. We established a sample plots (20×20 m) in felled stands. We recorded following data at the sample plots after felling: number of trees, number of felled trees, number of damaged trees, size of the injury, number of injuries on the stem. After skidding of the felled timber we recorded the percentage of damaged tress for second time at the same plots. The highest number of injuries was placed on the stem higher than 1 m above the ground 57 %, rest of the injuries were placed lower. Average area of the injury was 279 cm2. Measured data were evaluated and statistically analysed. Result were discussed with older works and we designed steps for minimization of damages caused on the residual stand.
