In this study we dealt with the issue of damages of forest ecosystems caused by wild boars. We have explored the extent to which wild animals can influence natural forest regeneration and whether they can also participate in the process of changes in wood structure in the field. In addition to wild boars, we also observed the effects of another wildlife such as deer. We were mainly focused on influences on natural reproduction in forest ecosystems. In order to answer these questions, we must first become familiar with the biology of our wild game and its food ethology during each period of the year. In addition to the biology of the wild game, we also became aware of the forest tree growth processes that were the subject of our research. The monitoring unit system was spread in a complex field of forestlands in the LS Budča, located on the territory of VšLP. The field of work was carried out on 16 permanent research areas. Research began with the establishment of areas in autumn 2015. Repeated field measurements were performed in spring and autumn. During the reference period from 2015 to 2018, we have gained interesting results about the impact of wildlife on natural rejuvenation. Damage caused by wildlife is directly related to its natural activity in searching for food. By turning the soil, wild boars create an environment for better germination of forest tree species. At the same time, they destroy various forest pests, especially insects, slugs and small rodents. This is the main reason why We consider wild boars as a useful part of the forest environment. We hope that our study will help to bring some new light into this quite complicated topic.
