The diploma thesis deals with the current issue of gray partridge (Perdix perdix) and its occurrence in the research area, in the surroundings of Zvolen. In the introductory parts of the thesis there is a detailed description of biology and etology of the partridge, where are information about its appearance, enlargement, habitats, way of life and breeding, food and predators. The thesis continues with the data on the abundance of the partridge not only at present, but mainly by its abundance, which could be obtained on the basis of historical data. At the core of the thesis and in its conclusion are recorded the results of our observation of the partridge in the research area. Based on the results are evaluated the negative factors, which influence its occurance and abundance in the concerned area.
