The main objective of my Thesis is to evaluate the adverse effects on the forest cover and the forest soil, the classification of the damages arising as a result of the skidding and the landing of the logs, to observe and collect the causes of the damages and the possibility of the damage arising during the logging - transport process with a special attention to the timber skidding using mini equipment " iron horse "- KAPSEN.The introductory section of my work deals with the logging and transport logs process and the categorization of the particular phases of both processes. Further on, it describes the different kinds of the logging mini equipment, compares advantages and disadvantages, describes and compares the performance of different types of equipment used in forestry, as well as the its historical development.The next section describes the damages caused by using the mini skidders, namely collection of the damages, their location and the origin.The last part of the Thesis contains analysis of the collected values, analyzes and evaluates the possibility to remove the skidders shortcomings and propose the full replacement using animals.Information and values obtained from the theoretical part and collected directly in the field are arranged sequentially into the chapters and subchapters, accompanied by the illustrations, tables and photographs.
