The subject of the diploma thesis is the application of analytical methods in the areaof the fire investigation of car fires. Experimentally, we have determined combustionaccelerators in samples of various materials forming a passenger car seat such as leather, coconut fiber, furthermore a felt layer and a coating fabric. We prepared and processedsamples, the analytical samples were taken and analyzed using the HeadSpace-GC-MSmethod. The aim of the diploma thesis is to compare the composition of volatile compoundsafter ignition of the samples. We leave the part of the samples to shake with the addition ofa combustion accelerator using petrol and without adding a combustion accelerator. Theexperiment shows that larger amounts of gasoline compounds were found in coconut fiberthan in leather. From the determined results we can conclude that coconut fiber is a moresuitable material for detecting the presence of flame accelerators as a leather sample becausethere are more compounds in it.
