The aim of the diploma thesis is to point out the importance of analytical methods in the search for fire burning accelerators. Accurate determination of the causes of fires and their subsequent analysis is one of the most important conditions for a successful fight against fires. The work deals with the applicable legislation which identified the causes of fires in the Slovak Republic. In this work are detailed analytical methods, work, collecting, recording and subsequent samples expertise. In which they evaluate the evidence of knowledge and subsequently determine the cause of fire.
