In this diploma thesis we have focused our attention on impact of chosen type of surface finishing (stone veneer from Slovakian producer Kamenta s.r.o.) on the flame spreading and the weight shortage of wooden material (OSB) during the test of radiation source of heat and during the test of ignitability. The first chapter contains information about elementary composition of wood and wooden materials and their chemical, physical, mechanical, and fire characteristics. In the next part of the chapter we acquaint with the historical methods of the surface finishing, necessary preparation of surface before surface finishing itself and with chosen types of surface finishing which are used nowadays. In the second chapter we specify main goal of the thesis. The third chapter contains information about the methodology of the thesis, including characteristics and details about testing procedures, testing samples, and the way of assessment. In the final, fourth chapter there are complete results and assessment of our thesis worked in the form of statistic tables, graphs, photo-documentation and discussion. We have used these results to classify testing material to the particular class of reaction to fire. According to them, stone veneer has practically no impact on fire-technical characteristics of foundation material and development of fire in general.
