The bachelor thesis discusses the evaluation of possible fire or explosion danger in a specific joiner shop. The evaluation of the level of fire danger serves to classify the shop as a place with an increased possibility of fire following the regulation no. 122/2002 by the Ministy of Interior of Slovak Republic about fire prevention. For the evaluation of explosion danger we chose to analyze samples of dust from the machines and following the results we divided the shop into explosion zones. The samples were obtained from a formatting saw GRIGGIO CA400 and collating machine MAGGI borning system 21. Through calculations we found out that the concentration of the dust from the collating machine is below the LEL lowest bar of explosivness while the concentration of dust from the formatting saw is way over the lowest bar and therefore can cause an explosion under certain circumstances. Knowing this, it’s necessary to respect the technical and organizational measures. We defined those following the §5 law of the Slovak Republic no. 314/2001 about fire protection in the department of employer duties concerning fire protection and following the regulation of Slovak Republic no. 393/2006 about the minimal requirement of maintaining security and health protection within the explosive workfield.
