The aim of the thesis is to assess the level of flood protection in the territory of the Slovak Republic. It deals with the assessment of the situation in the area of floods, the activities of the relevant organizations and the assessment of situations in the field of security before, during and after floods. As a result of the change in climatic conditions, there is an alternation of floods and droughts and consequently threats to the population, therefore the role of flood protection in the territory of the Slovak Republic is important.
