Even in the 21st century, entrepreneurship is still seen as an area dominated by men and women remain in a shadow. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to identify the current position of women in the business environment in the Slovak Republic and to propose measures whose implementation in practice will help to support their entrepreneurship. In the theoretical part, attention was paid to defining the basic concepts and identifying the current status of women both at home and abroad. We have identified the main reasons why women want to become entrepreneurs as well as the specificity of women's position in the business environment. We created an anonymous questionnaire based on which we mapped the current status of women in the business environment in Slovakia. We sent the questionnaire electronically. Subsequently, the obtained results were evaluated in a descriptive way and graphically too. Finally, proposals for measures have been put forward, the implementation of which will help to promote women's entrepreneurship in Slovakia.
