The main subject of the thesisare wooden buildings and fire protection issues foe buildings. Nowadays a big phenomenon is people´s effortto connect folk traditions with modern technology. The return of wooden architecture provides people renewal of human traditions., saving energyand enviroment protection. According to STN ( Slovak Technical Standard) 92 0201-2 wooden buildings from mixed construction can be built upto five above-ground floors allowing a new look for them and building modern multi-storey wooden construction. There are two alternative solutions of for fire protection od wooden buildings od group a designed for housing and accommodation. In the first case the two-storey wooden structure and in the second tree-storey wooden buildings are taken into consideration. In both case it was taken into consideration that the building was firstly placed in the group of burning construction and then into the mixed structural unit. Calculation has been made according to STN 92 0201-1 and charts are taken from STN 92 0201-2. The results have shown that different result od the fire protection issues may emerge. Each result depends on the number od above-ground floors. For the three-storey wooden bulding, belonging to the number od above-ground floors. For the three-storey wooden building, belonging to the group of burning constructions, the result was a higher degree of fire safery, which has increased the required fire resistance of the structure. Concerning wooden buildings from mixed structural units, in both cases there should have been changes in the identification of suitable building materials to fulfill requirements in STN 92 0201-2
