The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze the causes of fires in residential and residential units for the years 2010 to 2017 and to propose their subsequent measures to reduce the risk of fires. The theoretical part explains the occurrence of fire from a technical point of view. The practical part explains the direct analyzes from practice concerning the analysis of fires from 2010 to 2017 in the whole territory of the Slovak Republic, as compared to the practice abroad. Conclusion of the theoretical part is a statistical analysis for the whole period under review. Subsequently, a measure is proposed that could safely be avoided by fire, loss of life, health and property.
