Deadwood in forests has been linked to a broad range of ecosystem processes and functions. The issue of leaving deadwood in forest ecosystems is currently a greatly discussed topic. In particular, it is a relationship between healthy trees and deadwood. The thesis discusses the state of selected forest vegetation in LS Slanec, which we assessed on the basis of health status and quantity of dead wood. The condition of the vegetation was evaluated using a series of research areas (50 m x 50 m). The results of our fieldwork show that the amount and status of deadwood is optimal, which has a major impact on the health status as well as the overall ecological stability of the forest. Based on the above, we can see the importance of these results for further research in this area.
