The essence of the work was to describe the overview and types of control on the motor vehicle. The individual types of Škoda steering wheel that I chose for my model have been described and developed in a step-by-step analysis. The work includes the distribution, description, development of safety shafts, and proposals to improve the safety of the steering wheel shaft on a Škoda 100 passenger car so that the smallest impact on the vehicle construction is achieved. The main objective of the work was to create and describe a functional model as a learning aid for students of technical subjects and subjects related to road vehicles. The aim of the theoretical part of the bachelor thesis was to explain the operation, the steering function and the steering shafts on the motor vehicle and to describe their design. The aim of the practical part of the bachelor thesis was to describe the procedure of creating a teaching aid for higher education, which I made as a functional model. In the future, it can serve as a learning aid for easier understanding of steering wheel and steering. For the explanation of the function I used several types of steering wheels from Škoda cars, from Škoda 100, Škoda Felícia, Škoda Fabia I and Škoda Octavia II. From the functional model we can see the development of the steering shafts either in terms of comfort (adjustable steering wheel), but mainly in terms of safety (deformation zones). Through the model, it is possible to see and understand the function of individual steering components and steering shafts that we do not see in normal operation. This work can serve as a study material for a constructed learning model.
