This work deals with the issue of forest fires. A forest fire is a temporally and spatially unmanaged event which destroys all of the features of the forest. The aim of this bachelor work is to assess the impact of wind speed on the spread of forest fires. In the sub-objectives is described basic terminology, the distribution of the forest fires, meteorology and its impact on the spread and emergence of forest fires. The work describes the amount of fires in forests according to various aspects, such as the impact of the seasons on fire or amount of fires according to the type of forest vegetation. To meet the objectives of this bachelor thesis have been applied, methods such as summary and synthesis of knowledge. The conclusions of the solution of bachelor thesis is to evaluate and assess the impact of wind speed on fires in forest environments, in which we drew from the real data and the fire where the wind speed has played a key role.
