The aim of the bachelor thesis was an analysis of living standards using data from the macro-environment. Research object was region Poltár. On the basis of theoretical background and following processing of the information the proposal of action steps was created in order to improving quality of living in the Poltár. Scientific literature and websites were sources for the theoretical part of the thesis. First part was focused on the definition of the fundamental macroeconomic terms. Next chapter was focused on definition terms “the quality of living” and “the living standards”. Furthermore our attention was concentrated on actual status of the region Poltár. Questionnaire research results were interpreted using graphical, statistical and describing methods. Action steps for the improving the quality of living in region Poltár were proposed based on questionnaire research results.
