Within the theoretical part of the thesis we dealt with the issue of creation of ecological networks and territorial systems of ecological stability. We have dealt with the development of the concept of ecological networks in the world and the formation of the concept of territorial systems of ecological stability in the territory of the Slovak Republic. Within the territorial systems of ecological stability we have presented a chronological overview in the development of methodologies, as well as in the elaboration of the documents themselves at various hierarchical levels, with an emphasis on their incorporation in the real environment care policy of the Slovak Republic. We emphasized the current legislative support for implementation in spatial planning practice. In the framework of the application part of the thesis, we processed the analytical and synthesis part of the project of the local territorial system of ecological stability of Martin. In particular, we analyzed the primary landscape structure, analysis and synthesis of the secondary landscape structure, analysis and synthesis of the tertiary landscape structure. We mapped the synthetic outputs cartographically.
