The Bachelor thesis deals with analysis and assessment of the actual state of the art in the field of waste management in Holiša settlement in Lučenec district. The integral part of the thesis are proposals directed towards the improvement of the present waste management system form this settlement´s point of view. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused mainly on the terminology issues, legislation aspects as well as with current trends in this field. The application part is concentrated on waste processing practices in Holiša settlement and on its waste management program in connection with its local regulations. According to the objective of this thesis, the results are concentrated on waste processsing costs effectiveness, its regional interlinks, the role and, also, the possibilities of the settlement towards decreasing of waste volumes. Results brings the recommendation for better waste management in Holiša settlement.
