STAVIARSKÝ, Mário, Bc.: Modeling of natural hazards in the GIS environment focusing on flood modeling in the Rimavica river basin (till the village of Utekáč). Diploma Thesis. This diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of using GIS (geographic information systems) in flood assessment. In my work I model the Rimavica river basin in the terms of the SWAT programme, based on data related to soil, relief, climatic conditions and landscapes. The aim of the thesis is to create a hydrological model of the endangered area by floods using GIS, to elucidate the causes of the floods and to assess the impacts of changes in land use on flood discharges. Modeling is the result of syntheses and analyzes of selected factors influencing floods in the Rimavica river basin.
