The thesis deals with a summary of the theoretical knowledge in the field of wood burning, the theory of burning and the factors influencing wood burning and coniferous wood characterization and evaluation of its structure of properties from the fire protection point of view. The practical part is focused on the experimentation of radiation using a radiation panel for wood of scota pine from different parts of the tree, for determination of linear rate of aggravation, weight loss, temperature recording on samples and thickness of hardened wood layer. We carried out the measurement itself at the premises of the Laboratory of the Technical University in Zvolen. The test samples were cut with different parts of the tree, namely strains, branches, and roots. The results were recorded and evaluated, while we compared them with a similar work where the experiment was performed on samples of coniferous wood of norway spruce. The results showed that the goals of our work significantly influence the part of the tree from which the sample of coniferous wood originates, while the forest pine was the most affected by the heat radiation panel on the wood from the strain, the norway spruce on the wood from the cone.
