Given diploma thesis deals with the problems of inventory, warehousing and mainly with the methods and indicators of inventory management and its optimization. Theoretical part of my thesis presents given topics and explains basic terms and theoretical knowledge.A goal of the given thesis, based on analysis of contemporary situation and specified problems, was to suggest more objective methodology and indicators for the evidence, management and possible further optimization of inventory in the chosen company. Thesis was elaborated in machinery company Burmaier Precision Slovakia, Banská Bystrica. Nowadays, company and its IS/IT monitors only basic and absolute indicators about inventory. Our proposal was to implement new, more objective and relevant indicators of stock turnover.
