The purpose of the bachelor´s work is to design a house and then to review the energy efficient. The work divides into the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical part deals with dividing and comparing the construction systems. Then a thorough analysis of „two-by-four“ system follows from its beginnings to current trends. The theoretical part also deals with requirements for wooden structures. The work focuses on the thermal-technical aspect of building design and classification of houses into energy classes according to STN 73 0540 and the German PHPP system. The conclusion of the theoretical part deals with principles for the design of low energy and passives houses. The practical part includes the design of the family house by column system, the composition of individual constructions, calculation of heat losses and gains and classification into energy class. The appendix contains the necessary design drawings.
