This thesis deals with the survey of the actual state of wood in selected objects from the open-air museum in Stará Ľubovňa. It is divided into two thematic parts. The first part presents the basic defects of the structural timber due to biotic factors and also basic information about the open-air museum in Stará Ľubovňa. The second part deals with the survey of the state of wood of the four objects from open-air museum: the Greek-Catholic church from Matysová, the house from Jarabina, the Carpenter’s Workshop and the residential house from Kremná. The most common damage found in this objects was damage due to a longhorn beetle, a purplelonghorn beetle, common furniture beetle, brown rot and also weathering effects.
