In the theoretical part we tried to describe the individual joints that are being used. We focused mainly on joints in the creation of transformable furniture, but also on different materials and their properties.Nowadays, transformable furniture plays an important role in small- size dwellings.. We consider our bachleor´s thesis as very actual and intersting, because it brings different variants and interesting solutions to problems with a lack of space. These solutions are aesthetic, too. In ou bachleor. We also analyze existing transformable furniture and its various uses.In the first chapter consists of theoretical knowledge: the furniture construction joints, the construction materials and the construction itself. The second chapter is devoted to the goal of the work.The goal of our thesis was to create a design of transformable furniture. We made suggestions from which we chose the best alternative according to us. The best alterative was the combination of beech and birch plywood materials. The result of our thesis is the construction drawings and the prototype of the transformable chair on the stairs.Key words Furniture. Plywood. Connections. Articulated joint. Transformable structures.
