This project deals with issues related to theme “Interior as interpretation of artistic artifact“. It works with an artistic artifact as essential building point of a whole proces of interior design. Selected artist's work will be reflected in form of interior design. The goal is to analyze chosen literature – R.U.R. by Karel Čapek – into details and capture an emotion, atmosphere and the story of the author's work in whole space. Based on genre, designation of the interior and the best place for its implementation is selected. The work includes search from the view of literature specifically as author's work and it's a message of literature oeuvre it lefts behind. The genre and storyline determine a feeling of the space, which is the final goal of this work. Besides book's analyze, interior design is influented also by historical period in which the story was created. It captures events of politic, literary and artistic field. It clarifies the history of cafes in interwar period with intention to capture the right historic atmosphere combinated with depicting of actual story through materials and colours. The work also includes inspirational designs of interiors aimed to main topic of the whole work and the way these interior designs were able to transfer the feeling of story into the space. As a result of this work, the interior design of cafe is created connecting historic visual design components of cafes with melancholic feeling based on the story and science fiction genre, all united in harmony. Interior that captures the right feeling of the book is created, which is also a tribute to Karel Čapek as pointing out the importance of his work.
