This thesis is devided into the theoretical and practical part. The main component of theoretical part is the subject of waste management, while the secondary subject of this part is the complex characteristics of selected municipalities in the district of Banská Bystrica. The practical part consists of the mapping and identifying illegal landfills and mapping of plant species present in illegal dumpsites. An important part is the analysis of the abiotic and biotic components of the environment. In the proposal section, possible ways of preventing and eliminating illegal landfills are dealt with and thanks to the comprehensie analysis of plant species suitable for land reclamation. In the final part, the topic of the possible creation of illegal landfills is analysed.
