Bachelor thesis deals with joints and application of metallic fasteners, based on beechwood, which is the most represented in Slovakia. After a general introduction, the first part is devo-ted to the history of metal fasteners and typology of joints in general. In this section the joints are described and completed with pictures. The second part deals with the possibilities of ap-plication of metal fasteners in practice. The third part deals with the experiment where we compared the application of selected fasteners to beech and spruce wood. In the experiment, we used 3 types of fasteners and we draw the results into charts. In the fourth part we evaluated the results.
