The bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of the current state of flood protection in the municipality of Hranovnica. Its content summarizes the knowledge of floods and flood protection in terms of legislation and available literature. The preparedness of Hranovnica to address the flood situation and updated documentation of the municipality of Hranovnica in the area of flood protection is assessed.Research area is characterized by geographic location, climatic conditions, built-up area and population. The water courses flowing through the territory of the village of Hranovnica are described. Subsequently, the municipal flood relief plan is analyzed.At the end of the bachelor thesis there are several proposals for improvement of flood protection in the territory of the village of Hranovnica. These proposals concern flood rescue and flood security work.
