The thesis is concerned with the analysis of a manufacturing machine and at the same time with the form of the improvement and shortening of the time of redevelopment. For realization of the given task was chosen the method of industrial engineering called SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies). SMED is one of the basic methods of industrial engineering with primary aspiration for reduction of source wasting during the manufacturing process. This method establishes quick and effective transition between two different manufacturing batches. The key for reduction of manufacturing batches as well as improvement of flow of material is seen in quick redevelopment. The (practical part of) thesis was performed in company Continental ASS, s.r.o. with the concrete focus on manufacturing machine producing brake caliper sheath. The main effort was to shorten the time of mechanical parts readjusting. The time by which the redevelopment is possible is crucial while this redevelopment/readjusting of machine is performed twice or thrice a week.
