Proposed thesis deals with professor Roško's lifetime work for Slovak forestry. The aim of the thesis is to identify the importance of the results of professor Roško's work for forestry technical disciplines, based on the study of the theoretical bases about wood gathering and forestry cableways. The thesis describes the bases of the forestry transport and depicts the cableway wood gathering. Their principles and applicability are presented in more detail according to the research of patent solutions conducted at the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic and in the private archive of professor Roško. The attention is also paid to his most significant projects in cooperation with the practice and we predominantly focus on LANOR cableway systems and their technical description. The final part of the work is devoted to his most important publications from the area of making forests accessible.
