Degree of professional qualification: Bachelor, abbreviation „B.Sc.“ Zvolen: FF TU, 2018. 55 p.The content of the Bachelor work is the characteristics and evaluation of temperature inversion between meteorological stations Borova hora arboretum and Peak Predná Poľana nad Detvou during the winter half-years 2015/2016 and 2016/2017. The air temperature and global radiation was recorded by the means of the digital meteorological station of the Technical University and subsequently we evaluated the occurrence of inversion days in individual months using graphs. We also evaluated the number of days, during which the inversions lasted for the given months, and we calculated the temperature gradient, which we processed into tables in appendices 3 and 6. Due to some missing data, we didn´t evaluate the inversion temperatures for some months in the second winter half-year. There is 991 m. elevation between the two chosen stations. Borova hora arboretum is found in the 2nd forest altitudinal zone and the Peak Predná Poľana nad Detvou in the 7th. Based on these processed data we evaluated the month with the highest number of inversions during minimal, maximal and average air temperatures and the influence of weather on inversion occurrence. We have found out, that the highest number of inversions for both winter half-years was in the month January 2017. 20 inversion days occured during the comparison of the minimal air temperatures between stations, 14 inversions during maximal temperatures and 18 inversion days at the average air temperature.
