The main aim of the thesis is to map the innovation process of packaging in Mäspoma Ltd. and designing of project management tools for more efficient planning and organizing innovative projects. In order to achieve this goal it was necessary to elaborate the theoretical problems, which are mentioned in the first part of the diploma thesis. The theoretical part can be divided into three parts. In the first part we focused on the packaging, its functions, the packaging material and the material level of the packaging. In the second part, we focus on defining innovation, classifying and defining the innovation process. In the last part we define project management, project, and methods and techniques of project management. The second part of the diploma thesis is an analytical part. This part was characterized by Mäspoma Ltd. and the products they offer on the market. Subsequently, we used the structured interview with the product manager of Mäspoma Ltd. the innovative process of packaging in the company was mapped and described. Using these findings, we designed the use of selected project management tools and we proposed the packaging innovation in the company.
