The diploma thesis highlights new ways of measuring the prosperity of the countries through the alternative indicators. The above indicators take into account not only the quantity of manufactured goods and services provided but also many other factors. The aim of this work was to identify significant factors of well-being, and to analyze it the study of several indices that surpassed standard metrics. Based on the analysis, 12 factors were selected and their significance to the welfare of the population was tested on the selected sample by a questionnaire. From the results of the questionnaire, we provide a new index design taking into account the factors that could form the basis for the new alternative index. The development of new alternative indicators is still a popular topic, and the change in the measurement of countries' prosperity according to the GDP, seems increasingly necessary.
