The main object of the study was the analyses of prices of selected assortments of raw wood and the analysis of the wood market in the Slovak Republic. The subject of the study were these woods: spruce, oak, ash and mountain maple. The monitored period was 2008-2017. The work is divided into three main parts. The first part deals with the theoretical framework of work, the trend of changes of forest stands, forest categorization and trade with wood. The second part of the work describes the current state of forestry in Slovakia. In this part we analysed the price trends of selected assortment of raw wood of three qualitative classes (I., II., III.) within the chosen period. The last part of the thesis includes a description of the factors that influence the prices of wood and the proposal of measures for the use of the results of the diploma thesis.
