The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze the economic development and the current situation in the fastest growing economy of the world, China. It is an analysis of the development of this economy to date, in order to find future plans and the direction of further Chinese development. In line with foreign trade policy plans, this topic is focused on China's free trade zones, from which the Shanghai pilot area is the test center for foreign trade. These are the trade groups in which China actively operates, for example, ASEAN, or the relative counterweight of the TTP agreement under the RCEP abbreviation. More specifically, there is a feature of the OBOR initiative, which aims to connect directly to China's largest trading partner and thus to the EU.
