The aim of the bachelor thesis was to evaluate possibilities and financial support for biomass projects for energy purposes in Slovakia. It is divided into four parts. The first part is dedicated to explaining the climate change on our planet and the measures we were forced to implement, why it is necessary for us to turn to other sources of energy. The second part of the bachelor thesis is focused on the evaluation of the possibilities of obtaining energy from biomass in conditions of Slovakia, which are important for the sustainable development of the economy. The third part of the thesis is a description of the European Union Structural Funds system for the promotion of energy production from biomass as well as a description of the support programs in Slovakia. The fourth part deals with the criteria of financial and economic efficiency of energy production projects from biomass.
