Diploma thesis assesses the competitiveness of electric cars as a product innovation in Slovakia from the viewpoint of its perception by customers. In the analysis of this issue, the thesis analyzes the current situation and deals with the theoretical description and the characteristics of electric vehicle as a product innovation and with the analysis of the current competitiveness of electric cars against cars with combustion engines. The subject of the work is to evaluate the current competitiveness of electric cars with the combustion engine based on a survey in practice, using the KANO model, as well as identifying customer requirements for both car groups. On the basis of the findings, we can note the low competitiveness of a given product innovation of electric vehicles with respect to cars with a combustion engine from the point of view of customers, and customers regard their price and energy consumption as the biggest negation.
