This diploma thesis deals with the possibility of using the voluntary firefighters during the extensive forest fire in the Banovce nad Bebravou district. The aim of the thesis is to compare the expenses spent during the intervention provided by the professional firefighters and then with the help of voluntary firefighters. Out of these, we tried to choose the best option and solution. In the introductory part, we compare the firefighting units in the Slovakia and in the particular countries of Europe. In the next chapter we focus on tactical training carried out by the professional firefighters. In the last part we suggest several possible options for dissolution of the forest fire and we are trying to find out the most suitable option.
