The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the hunting management of deer in Slovakia between 2011 and 2015 and to bring it closer to its basic characteristics. The first part is characterized by the history of evolution and the origin of the deer, the current situation of its breeding, its area, the characteristics of the deer as an animal species, the physique, the description of deer antlers and reproduction. In the next part we deal with the characteristics of deer management, determination of spring stocks and standardized stocks, breeding and hunting planning, principles of selective shooting and analysis of statistical data of the mention issue. The result of the thesis is an overview of deer management in Slovakia in the given time period with several recommendations applicable in practice to the future.
